17/02/15 - We recorded an improvised piece for Maya Deren’s film At Land in November 2014. The concept was to have this music being played at the entrance gallery to the Words to the Blind (Savages & Bo Ningen collaboration Nov 19th 2014) at Barbican's Oval Space. We had speakers in place along with a portrait of Maya Deren. Instead of accompanying the actual film (which had a screening on the night) we had this music ringing out isolated as people were arriving. We called it 'A soundtrack not to be played with the footage that inspired it'. The work is stark in it's lost imagery and meters along hopeful in it's tangible unease.
